Join us for this four week series of chats and explore of the world of Tibetan Buddhism. This introductory series covers topics such as mind and its potential, how to meditate, establishing a daily practice, karma and transforming problems. During each series you will have the opportunity to discuss the topic and ask questions, and a short guided meditation. This is an excellent opportunity to get an overview of core Buddhist teachings in the Tibetan tradition. You are also welcome to drop in and attend on a casual basis, however we do recommend you commit to the four sessions.

Tuesday evenings 6:30pm – 8pm, 23 Maple St Maleny. Entry to the general programme is by donation. No need to book. All welcome!

Venerable Tony Beaumont is an Australian-born Buddhist monk. He has been ordained for almost 20 years, and has studied extensively at Lama Tsong Khapa Institute in Italy and Nalanda Monastery in France. Tony has taught at FPMT centres around the world, and currently works as a teacher at Karuna Hospice in Brisbane.

Established 1974, Chenrezig Institute is a centre for Buddhist study, meditation, retreat and practice nestled in the foothills of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. The Institute is home to a Tibetan Geshe (Lama), a large community of ordained Sangha (monks and nuns), students, residents, volunteers, retreat goers and guests.

Apart from the formal study programmes, Chenrezig Institute is a peaceful, calm and relaxing place to spend a few hours, days or weeks. Stroll along the bush paths, wander in formal garden, espresso in the cafe or a vegetarian meal.
