Art After Dark

Art After Dark in September is lucky to have award winning artist and tutor Pam Taylor as our guest instructor so come along and join us at Wallace House for a night of champagne, party food, a whole lot of fun and take home a canvas with your impression of old Queenslanders.  Art After Dark nights are held on the last Thursday of each month. In October we will have life drawing with another award winning artist, Wendy Epp..

An interpretation of Pam's paintings will take you down memory lane of Qld’r houses in Brisbane and the surrounding hilly suburbs at sunset, using colourful paint tones and lots of patterns, stamped with stencils. Tall palm trees and violet Jacarandas often completed the vista around these colourfully painted homes.

Simple blocking in with colour, detail and foliage that a novice will be able to achieve.

In urban landscapes Pam pursues the culture and colour of a place, captivating details of the buildings, windows and doors, quite often the painting tells a story.

Her paintings usually start with a colour idea, and then evolve into compositions in which colour becomes the primary subject.

She photographs details of what catches her eye as painting subjects, then relives those special moments in paint on canvas.
