The Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) and Duracell are urging residents to change the batteries in their smoke alarms on April 1 as part of the annual ‘Don’t be a Fool’ campaign.
The ‘Don’t be a Fool’ campaign on Tuesday, April 1st serves as an important reminder to Queenslanders to ensure they are armed with the best defence for surviving household fires.
QFES and Duracell recommend using long-lasting 9V alkaline batteries, testing the smoke alarm once a month and changing the batteries each year to ensure year-round protection.
