The ladies of Arioso Chamber Ensemble are welcoming the return of patrons to live concerts with a programme of passionate and exquisite Italian music. With love underpinning our lives, beautiful arias such as Monteverdi’s Chiome d’Oro and Si dolce è il tormento unwittingly relate its torture, while its harsh chains are broken in Antonio Caldara’s Rotte l’aspre catene. These three works along with Vivaldi’s In furore iustissimae irae (In the fury of most righteous wrath) will be sung by Hungarian-born soprano Judit Molnar accompanied by Margaret Caley (baroque violin), Belinda Manwaring (baroque cello) and Janet Brewer (harpsichord). Also, on the programme are instrumental works by JS Bach, Andrea Zani and Johann Fux, all who had strong connections with the musicians of Venice.
Concerts will be held at 2.00 and 4.00pm at Eudlo Hall, 19 Rosebed Street, Eudlo. Ticket prices are $28 adult and $25 concessions. Bookings are highly recommended. Please phone 5446 8128 or visit www.ariosochamberensemble.com. Required distancing and sanitisation protocols will be observed but it will nonetheless be an enjoyable afternoon of chamber music.
