EXCLUSIVE VIEW OF THE F-111 AT BUSINESS NETWORKING NIGHT

An exclusive private viewing of the new F-111 at the Queensland Air Museum will be taking place on June the 25th in a special combined networking function between the Caloundra Chamber of Commerce and Sunshine Coast Destination.

The networking night will give guests the opportunity to celebrate the Sunshine Coast’s latest attraction with industry professionals. The F-111 A8-129 aircraft has been delivered to the Queensland Air Museum (QAM), and is on loan from the Royal Australian Air Force following an extensive eight-year campaign by the museum and the wider community.

Caloundra Chamber of Commerce Tourism and Events chair and Rumba Beach Resort director Bill Darby said the event will celebrate an amazing achievement for Caloundra and attendees will be blown away the sheer size of this legendary aircraft.

“This event will be a show stopper. By partnering with Sunshine Coast Destination we are able to bring together both the business and tourism industries for a great night of mingling in one of the coast’s iconic locations.

“We saw it as very important to celebrate the F-111 coming to Caloundra as the QAM will be the only non-government museum in Queensland to have an F-111 on display, putting Caloundra in the spotlight” Mr Darby said.

Guests will have exclusive access to the F-111 as QAM operators will be at the event offering attendees the opportunity to climb up and see the aircraft up close. They will also be on hand to share their extensive knowledge about the F-111.

Queensland Air Museum President Cameron Elmes said he was elated for the museum to hosting a networking event of this calibre.

‘’The importance of the F-111 to the museum and its volunteers is huge; as this is the first time a Federal Government had made the decision to loan an aircraft of such significance to civilian museums. And it is great to have a networking night at the museum to celebrate this” Mr Elmes said.

Numbers are limited due to the size of the venue and the size of the plane. It is expected to be a sell-out event so RSVP’s are a must. If you are interested in attending and seeing the F-111 in an exclusive private viewing then please register at www.caloundrachamber.com.au/networkingevent The event will be held from 5.30pm – 7.30pm on June 25th.
