ARTWORKS PORTRAY THE WORLD THROUGH THE EYES OF WOMEN

Limited Edition - Recent Lino-cuts is a show of lino-cuts by three women who are self confessed obsessive artists with a passion for printmaking and the need to express their feelings about the world around them. They explore and celebrate their environment and show their feelings about it. Each has a different and personal response.

Shirley Strano said “My lino-cuts are about the hinterland, Queensland houses and recent images from my garden which I established in Eumundi 20 years ago. They are about the relationship of form and riotous colour. The garden is a bit wild."

Researching 'mark making' from prehistoric times sparked the creativity of Meg Woods. “I am interested in how and why people express the mystery of their world," said Meg.

The sun has always been revered as a giver of light and life. The images range from mystical markings on northern hemisphere standing stones to the artist's own interpretation of how the sun inspired the Cross and Tree of Life symbols.
