The seasonal tradition of ‘wassailing’ will be celebrated in Noosa in December with audiences enjoying themselves and the company of other merry makers at the Wassail Christmas Cheer Concerts being presented by the Noosa Chorale on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 December at the Bicentennial Hall in Sunshine Beach.
Guest soloist, Andrew Pryor will be joining the choristers in a mixed program of rarely heard and familiar carols. Andrew is well known and loved by Sunshine Coast residents for his exquisite voice and vibrant personality. He was a founding member of the Ten Tenors, later joined the four-man Tenorissimos and performs regularly for Opera Queensland.
Adrian King, the choir’s conductor said: “I am so looking forward to presenting this year’s program which comprises some beautiful and ancient carols as well as those we have all sung with gusto since childhood: these concerts are a happy affair and are a much anticipated feature of the festive season in Noosa.” He will be encouraging and even egging on the audience to join the choir in singing some of the traditional carols.
Wassailers will be greeted at the door with a glass of complimentary bubbly before they take their seats at the tables laid with Christmas fare. The opportunity to purchase drinks from the cash bar will add to the convivial atmosphere of the evening.
