Australia Day at the Sunshine Coast Cup

The Sunshine Coast Cup feature race day 

Australia Day - Sunday 26th January 2014.

Australia Day 2014 will be a party to remember at the Sunshine Coast Turf Club with a family friendly event for everyone to enjoy.

The Sunshine Coast Cup feature race day is the metropolitan race meeting for Queensland on the 26th Jan. With an exciting 8 race program and total prize money of $450,000 on offer, there will be strong interest and big fields at Caloundra on Australia Day. The Sunshine Coast Turf Club has teamed up with the Caloundra Chamber of Commerce to present this action packed event right in the middle of a brilliant long weekend for visitors to Caloundra, Sunshine Coast.

Families are encouraged to attend the race meeting, with a wide variety of activities organised for the children including a jumping castle, pony rides and an animal petting zoo. A designated picnic area on the lawns trackside will be available for families to spread out and give everyone room to spread out and space to play. Picnic hampers can be pre-booked from the Sunshine Coast Turf Club by phoning 07 5491 6788. Please note – final bookings for hampers need to be confirmed by Thursday 23rd Jan 2013. Cost of hampers is $35. Feel free to pack your own picnic and bring it along. Please note – all beverages must be purchased on-course. No drinks can be brought into the Sunshine Coast Turf Clubs premises on the day.

The Caloundra Chamber of Commerce is once again holding a corporate party on the Sunshine Coast Cup race day. The Hobnobbers Luncheon in the Champagne Garden is right on the finish line and the place to be.  250 people will wine and dine together throughout the afternoon. Hobnobbers will enjoy complimentary entry to the track, complimentary entry to the members’ enclosure, a 3 course indulgence buffet lunch, selected beverages for the whole afternoon, competitions and lucky door prizes. The Champagne Garden has its own bar, TAB outlet and toilets so everything is easy and convenient. It is also undercover, so protected from sun and rain.
