The core principles of Paleo come?from our hunter-gatherer, ancestral lifestyle and combines those with modern scientific research and a good dose of common sense. The paleo 'diet' has gained a huge following lately and as a result it is often scrutinised, misrepresented and often misunderstood. Paleo isn't new, it's not a fad or a craze. It's a lifestyle and it's been around for many years.
The focus with food is on eating whole, unprocessed foods like grass-fed meat, free-range poultry, wild-caught fish, vegetables (including root vegetables,) fruit, berries, some nuts and seeds. Generally avoided are grains, legumes, refined sugars and dairy. The goal with this is to control insulin sensitivity, repair gut health, increase nutrient absorption and reduce inflammation in the body.
Food isn't the only aspect of this simpler lifestyle; looking after our overall health also includes the way we move and interact with our environment. Natural movement is about moving the body as nature intended and using a holistic and mindful approach to help strengthen and condition the body safely and progressively. It's also about getting in touch with nature and your surrounds, and most of all, having fun!
PART ONE of the workshop is a Natural Movement session at a local outdoor area.
Clint will introduce natural movement and the benefits. Each participant recieve a workbook of information, photos and instructions for the movements and space to write notes. Learn a variety of beginner-level movements.

PART TWO - Paleo cooking with Jen.
Learn what paleo food is, where the philosophy comes from and the benefits. Jen will be cooking 4 different meals and will provide a workbook with information and recipes. There is will be great food to taste!. After the cooking workshop is over the participants can join in on a tour of Kunara and the nearby organic butcher,so they can see what ingredients are used, find out about different brands, bulk buy options, how to read labels etc.
Clint Bauer is a Sunshine Coast Health and Fitness Coach who took his own poor nutrition and obesity in hand and explored dietry philosophy. His personal evolution in both work and play have led him to a passion for the paleo/primal lifestyle.
Jen Shaw is a health, nutrition and personal development re-educator and strategist. Her main interest lies with paleo food and nutrition but is an all round real food advocate.
