Join the Atrium Gallery Artists and Artisans to watch them demonstrate their talents on Saturday 22nd March 10am – 4pm.  Chat with the Artists and see how their master pieces come together and find out some secrets. Enjoy the tranquillity of the garden and treat yourself to morning or afternoon tea. The Atrium Artists have wide and varied talents and fill the gallery with a beautiful selection of fine art and artisan craft work. Open Days are held on the 4th Saturday of every month and the gallery is open 7 days 10am – 4pm.

This month’s featured Artists:

Carole Ronay: After a lifetime of art appreciation Carole retired from a very busy life and followed in the footsteps of a Grandfather and Mother who painted, that soon became a lifeblood for her using oil and acrylics.  Years were spent attending workshops and understudying with many talented professional artists. This included three years of intense private training with an internationally known artist from the group of “Top Ten Australian Artists”. Carole has and continues to enter many competitive exhibitions and won a First Prize and Highly Commended at the Noosa Art Festival in 2004 and a Highly Commended Award at the Kenilworth Art Festival in 2007. At Noosa in 2008, three successful solo exhibitions were held and in 2009/2010 along with two other artists, Carole ran a successful Art Gallery.

Carole continues to create outstanding pieces with skilled brushwork, great compositions, and beautiful use and understanding of colour. With an ability to produce and sell paintings that are different and enjoyable to visually explore.  Carole says, “To paint is the most exciting journey an artist can take on canvas. Colours alone are exhilarating and energizing. My desire is that people will enjoy my art and experience what I did when applying the paint to canvas. It is a privilege to participate in art which is an added dimension to what the eye can see – ART IS WHAT THE HEART FEELS”.

Carolan Ciot: Carolan began working with silver 30 years ago, taking weekly classes in Wollongong NSW. Then for a while the rigors of life as a working mother took precedence. Upon moving to the Sunshine Coast, Carolans hobby quickly developed into a passion after discovering the Buderim Craft Cottage. She resumed working and experimenting with silver and local Artists and Jewellers and participating in varied workshops at a Summer School in Toowoomba.

Carolan Says “I have always been interested in all aspects of design and I love and appreciate beautiful things. I am inspired by nature, colour and texture. Working with silver and stones encompasses all of this. I really enjoy the journey that creating each piece takes me on. What starts as one idea generally develops organically into something quite different, which I find really exciting.” After a recent trip to the Philippines, Carolan has been working with unique black and white pearls.
