This months featured Artists:

Lisa Gregg:

Lisa has been painting seriously for 12 years, and has studied under some wonderful artists such as Fu Hong (a master oil painter), Jenny Kelly (a wonderful acrylic artist), Todd Whisson, Donald Waters, Sunshine Coast's Tony Lewis (in watercolour) and Olga Garner-Morris. Lisa says “I enjoy life drawing, but specialize in acrylics as I love their diversity which is very suited to my style. I have to be in a good mood to paint, luckily I'm a mostly happy person! My inspiration comes from flowers, life models, our beautiful Sunshine Coast Sea and landscapes”. If you need some colour in your life or on your walls, Lisa is the artist to see! To view some of Lisa’s work, find her on Facebook 'Lisa Gregg - Art of Allowance' or Instagram 'lisagreggart'.

Ros Franklin:

Ros Franklin has been a seamstress for over 45 years, making outfits for herself and family and furnishings for her homes but didn’t pursue her passion for experimentation.

“When I retired and moved to the Sunshine Coast, I went in search of a facility where I could learn from others and start my journey. I wanted to explore methods of distortion, manipulation and alteration of the surface of fabric in order to create unique textiles that I could use. I joined the Fabric Art and Surface Design Group at the Buderim Craft Cottage (BCC) and therein began my journey.

I have been involved with the BCC for 6 year. During that time I have learnt so much about fabric dyeing, nuno felting, mixed media and sculpturing textiles. I then joined the Multi Mixed Media group two years ago and have begun experimenting with a hardening compound for use in making jewellery, figurines and art pieces.

I am continually learning and trying new things as there are so many things available to get our creative juices flowing” Says Ros.
