The Early Music Society of Queensland presents "Bach and Weiss on the Lute" with Lutenist Andrew Byrne.
Lutenist Andrew Byrne is one of Australia's leading performers on ancient European Lutes and early guitars. He presents this programme of music by two Baroque composers who lived at almost exactly the same time. The name J S Bach is familiar to many however his contemporary, Sylvius Leopold Weiss also composed music for the Lute which is not often heard. The programme is in two halves with an interval, and runs for 90 minutes. Andrew will play a 13 course German Lute.
