To mark this grand occasion we are celebrating South Asia's rich culinary experience and tradition. We will mark this day by celebrating India's culture, music and dance and also make this event more exciting by showcasing various foods South Asia has to offer.
The day is observed to commemorate India's independence from the British Empire on 15 August 1947. This year, Festivals of South Asia Inc will host celebrations at the Race course in all its pomp and glory. From Flag hoisting to Australian-Indian friendship parade, the event will have cultural, musical and culinary delights from 11 AM to 9 PM. This is your chance to witness a journey into India's rich cultural heritage. The day will feature amusement rides, camel ride for kids, pottery workshop, bollywood dancing and much more.
