In this workshop, we will explore and combine the worlds of Improvisation and Physical Theatre. The improviser is the ultimate storyteller and it’s the improviser’s job to be captivating. Physical Theatre requires the actor to talk through hand gestures, body language, thought track and many more physical features. Most human communication is nonverbal. Expressing yourself through your actions, as well as your words, will make your performances memorable.
In these two and a half hours, we go in depth, exploring this concept by creating scenes together. In this workshop you will learn to express character using movement and emotion, tell a lifetime of stories without saying a word!
Aimed at learners between the ages of 13 -18 years old, this workshop requires no prior improvisation or physical theatre experience. We will explore these two techniques through the use of games, exercises and improvisation. The last half an hour will be set aside to perform what we have learnt. This workshop is designed to encourage fearlessness, creativity, collaboration and fun!
