Meditation is a tool for learning about our mind and how we relate to the world. It is an essential component of the Buddhist path to mental wellbeing and lasting happiness because it helps to develop mindfulness, tranquility and insight. Meditation can also benefit us by helping to reduce stress and anxiety.

Meditation is a tool for learning about our mind and how we relate to the world. It is an essential component of the Buddhist path to mental wellbeing and lasting happiness because it helps to develop mindfulness, tranquility and insight. Meditation can also benefit us by helping to reduce stress and anxiety, and enabling us to meet everyday challenges with a calm and positive mind.

This one-day course teaches basic Buddhist meditation techniques. You will learn about the different types of meditation, the benefits of practice, how to sit properly, and how to deal with obstacles. The weekend includes teachings, meditation sessions, and time for questions and discussion.

The course doesn’t assume you are Buddhist or want to be – the practices can benefit anyone and the course is open to students from any background. If you have ever wanted to learn to meditate, this is a great opportunity!

Meals in the Big Love Cafe are available separately, and must be booked before 10:30am on the day of the event.
