Experience the wisdom of the embodied mind, your embodied mind, with Transformative Mindfulness.

During this one day workshop you will experience simple, yet powerful, methods of guided meditation and expressive drawing, for healing on the day and as tools you can use after the workshop. Movement and stillness meditations support the day of transformation.

Transformative Mindfulness Methods (TMM) are self healing tools which integrate the focus and awareness of mindfulness with receptive visualisation and drawing to bring insight and change to a chosen situation in life, quite simply and powerfully. The approach can be used to help with emotional or physical issues, with children, young people and adults. The foundation exercise brings healing change to a ‘problem’. Other exercises bring greater insight and perspective to situations, build strengths and transform outer or inner conflict. Profound change can occur, as a deep understanding of the causes of issues is accessed in a compassionate way. Mindful acceptance then supports transformation.

Part of the change process involves calling on a source of help, of wisdom and compassion, of healing, of light, of love, from outside or from within. This invitation to support, to beneficial change and the letting go and allowing that comes with it, brings a depth of change ‘beyond reason’.

Transformative Mindfulness is a recognised learning program of FDCW. It has been used in many health and social service areas and to support our spiritual paths. Dekyi-Lee Oldershaw developed the program while a nun at Chenrezig Institute and now runs the program in partnership with Toronto University in Canada.www.transformativemindfulness.com

Ruth is a Buddhist Psychotherapist in Maleny. She runs self care and training groups using Transformative Mindfulness and Dru Yoga, offering people simple ways they can care for and transform their own lives, and the lives of people they live and work with. She has practiced Tibetan Buddhism since 1998 and found it to be the key to her own health and happiness. Ruth aims to help people to connect within, to their own inner light and from there to connect out into the world with others. Sharing and enjoyment are always present at Ruth's groups, as we recover our sense of connection and joy of life.
