This introductory course provides an overview of core Buddhist teachings and practices with an emphasis on applying the topics to everyday life. Join Venerable Drolkar for a relaxed exploration of how Buddhism can help you live a happier, more meaningful life.

Topics to be covered in this course include:

Mind and our potential.

How to meditate.

The Buddhist path to happiness.

Death and rebirth.

The principles of karma.

The nature of our existence.

Developing compassion and loving kindness.

How to transform problems.

Sessions will include a short DVD, teaching and discussion with guided meditation, activities and time for questions. This course is a gentle introduction to the Discovering Buddhism program. There will be an optional evening activity.

Saturday 12 March 9.00 am – Sunday 13 March 3.30 pm, held in the Gompa at Chenrezig Institute.

Facility fee $150. 10% discount for members and concession card holders.

Accommodation and meals available separately. Meals must be booked before 10 am on the day of the event.

Ordained in 2011, Venerable Drolkar has a degree in Applied Ethics, is a graduate of Discovering Buddhism, a current student of FPMT’s advanced study program and a Buddhist Chaplain. Affiliated with the Langri Tangpa Centre in Brisbane, she leads adult and children’s classes that aim to make the teachings relevant and applicable to everyday life. Students value the warmth, humour and ease that Ven. Drolkar brings to class. She has a daughter, two young grandsons and loves to laugh!
