• Nielsen: Maskarade Overture

• Brahms: Double Concerto for violin and cello:

o Soloist: Graeme Jennings (violin)

Australian violinist, violist, conductor, improviser, educator, Graeme Jennings, is a former member of the legendary Arditti String Quartet (1994-2005). He has toured widely throughout the world, made more than 80 CDs, given over 300 premieres and received numerous accolades including the prestigious Siemens Prize (1999) and two Gramophone awards. Active as a soloist, chamber musician, ensemble leader and conductor, his repertoire ranges from Bach to Boulez and beyond.

o Soloist: Patrick Murphy (cello)

Patrick Murphy holds the position of Cello Performance Fellow at the School of Music, University of Queensland. He is also a member of the Southern Cross Soloists, resident at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre and the White Halo Ensemble, Ensemble in Residence at the School of Music at UQ. Patrick is a regular player with the Australian World Orchestra and has commissioned and premiered new works for solo cello by Australian composers including Paul Dean and James Ledger.

This is a General Admission style event. There are no seat allocations. Show starts at 3pm. There will be refreshments available for purchase during the interval.
