The Caloundra RSL will once again be hosting ceremonies for ANZAC Day 2016. This year is a special commemoration for the 100 Year Anniversary of the formation of the RSL as well as 70 Years since the opening of the Caloundra RSL’s Sub Branch and their continued assistance in the local community.
The Caloundra ANZAC Day Ceremony will begin with a Dawn Service held at Lions Park in Kings Beach. Attendees are urged to bring their own chair and are welcome to catch the courtesy bus that leaves from the RSL at 4am. Assembly for the service starts at 5:15am, with the service beginning at 5:20am.
Following the Dawn Service, everyone is welcome to attend the Caloundra RSL at 6:30am for a Gunfire Breakfast. There will then be the ANZAC Day March in the Stockland Shopping Centre Carpark (closer to the Kmart end), with ‘Form up’ starting at 8:30am, and ‘Step off’ starting at 9.00am.
To continue commemorations into the afternoon, members and guests are welcome to join in on a game of ‘Two Up’, on the Caloundra RSL, Viva Deck from 1.30pm.
