We are very excited to announce a momentous and very auspicious occasion for Chenrezig Institute. His Eminence the 7th Kyabje Yongzin Ling Choktrul Rinpoche has been invited to attend the Festival of Tibet in Brisbane and has agreed to conduct a weekend course at Chenrezig based on the Three Principle Aspects of the Path by Lama Tsong Khapa.

His Eminence is the incarnation of 6th Kyabje Yongzin Ling Rinpoche who was His Holiness Dalai Lama’s main teacher and spiritual advisor throughout his lifetime.

He is one of the most renowned and qualified master of the 20th century and his many students included Lamas, Tulkus, and Geshes from all the traditions of Tibetan Buddhism. A wonderful life story of this astounding Lama is available here on FPMT’s website http://fpmt.org/teachers/lineage-lamas/hhling/

The current Ling Rinpoche has traveled to several countries in Asia, Europe and to the United States, but this is his first visit to Australia, invited under the auspices of Brisbane’s Festival of Tibet, and we are delighted that he has agreed to visit and teach.

His Eminence was born in McLeod Ganj, Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh, India, on 18 November 1985 and in 1987, he was recognized as the reincarnation of the 6th Kyabje Yongzin Ling Rinpoche (1903 – 1983) by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. He is one of the new generation of Rinpoche's born outside Tibet and working with great energy to preserve and develop the precious Buddhadharma throughout the world.

In a beautiful continuation of a monastic tradition, on 3 March 2004, the 50th Anniversary of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama receiving his fully ordained monk’s vows from the 6th Kyabje Yongzin Ling Rinpoche in 1954, His Holiness bestowed the same fully ordained monk’s vows upon His Eminence the 7th Ling Rinpoche in His Holiness’ Palace in Dharamsala, India.

His Eminence Ling Rinpoche, studied at Drepung Monastery in southern India engaging in rigorous religious study and spiritual training under the special care and guidance of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and recently completed all five Geshe Studies subjects (Logic, Perfection of Wisdom, Middle Way, Higher Knowledge, and Monastic Discipline). His Eminence has also organized several important Buddhist events, including His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s historic series of Jangchup Lam rim Teachings on 18 classic treatises on the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment in south India annually from 2012 to early 2016.

We hope that many people, from completely new visitors to our most experienced students, from the Sunshine Coast and places all over Australia, will be able to join us for the teachings.
