Death is inevitable, so why do we pretend that death is not part of life? Death has no favourites, it does not visit only the old and the infirm. This special one-day course will look at how we can use the understanding of the certainty of death and the knowledge that we can die at any moment as a means to prepare our minds for that time. A peaceful mind, filled with compassion for others, allows us to go through this process without the intense fear, anger and other afflictive emotions that can make this experience so traumatic. Venerable Rigsal is currently involved in hospice work, visiting palliative care patients on a regular basis and helping those who are close to death. Join her for this one-day course as she helps us transform our minds and our view of death, so that we can be of help to ourselves and those around us. Saturday 2nd July 9.00 am - 4.30 pm, held in the Gompa at Chenrezig Institute. Facility fee $75. 10% discount for members and concession card holders. Accommodation and meals available separately. Meals must be booked before 10.00 am on the day of the event. All bookings can be made on our website www.chenrezig.com.au. Venerable Lozang Rigsal studied the Buddhist Study Program at Chenrezig Institute for five years and was involved in the Cittamani Hospice since its inception in the role of counsellor. She spent a further two years at Dorje Chang in New Zealand and was Spiritual Programme Coordinator at Tara Institute in Melbourne.

Established 1974, Chenrezig Institute is a centre for Buddhist study, meditation, retreat and practice nestled in the foothills of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. The Institute is home to a Tibetan Geshe (Lama), a large community of ordained Sangha (monks and nuns), students, residents, volunteers, retreat goers and guests.

Apart from the formal study programmes, Chenrezig Institute is a peaceful, calm and relaxing place to spend a few hours, days or weeks. Stroll along the bush paths, wander in formal garden, espresso in the cafe or a vegetarian meal.

Teachers’ availability subject to change; please refer http://www.chenrezig.com.au/programme/monthly-calendar/ for updated information.
