Maleny Arts and Crafts Group Biennial Quilt Show

The Maleny Arts and Crafts Group Quilters will hold their biennial Quilt Show at the Main Pavilion, Maleny Showgrounds on Saturday and Sunday the 24th and 25th September.

The two years since our last quilt show has gone quickly but the members have been busy and there will be a great range of quilts on display.

Quilts on display will include traditional, modern and art quilts. Some will be hand quilted and some machine quilted. Some will be small, some will be large and there will be lots in between. Visitors will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite quilt.

The first prize in the raffle is a brightly coloured quilt made by the members featuring Kaffe Fassett fabric and using the Shimmering Triangles pattern by Jenny Bowker. It has been beautifully quilted by Swandale Quilting. The second prize is a beautiful array of Japanese fabric with 25 x 1 m pieces donated by Fabrics with Panache. Third prize is a Quilt Kit including fabric and pattern donated by members of the Quilting Group.

There will also be a traders’ alley giving visitors the opportunity to purchase fabric and other quilting notions. There will be spot prizes given out during the two days of the Show.

Entry is $5 for adults which includes a complimentary cup of tea or coffee.  There will be cakes, slices and sandwiches available to purchase. The Quilt Show will be open 9am – 4pm on Saturday and 9am – 3pm on Sunday.
