The Six Perfections are the practices leading to the expression of our own Buddha Nature. Join Ven. Tony as he discusses practical ways you can bring generosity, ethics , patience, joyous effort, concentration, and wisdom into your everyday life and develop these qualities. Each of the Six Perfections supports the other five, but the order of the perfections is significant also. The first three perfections -- generosity, ethics and patience -- are virtuous practices for everyone. The remaining three -- joyous effort, concentration, and wisdom -- are more specifically about spiritual practice. This weekend Ven. Tony will focus on cultivating generosity, ethics and patience. Saturday 27 August 9.00 am - Sunday 28 July 3.30 pm, held in the Gompa at Chenrezig. Facility fee $150. 10% discount for members and concession card holders. Accommodation and meals available separately. Meals must be booked before 10.00 am on the day of the event. All bookings can be made on our website www.chenrezig.com.au. Australian-born Tony Beaumont trained and worked as a psychiatric nurse. He was ordained in 1991 and has taught at FPMT centres around the world.
Established 1974, Chenrezig Institute is a centre for Buddhist study, meditation, retreat and practice nestled in the foothills of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. The Institute is home to a Tibetan Geshe (Lama), a large community of ordained Sangha (monks and nuns), students, residents, volunteers, retreat goers and guests.
Apart from the formal study programmes, Chenrezig Institute is a peaceful, calm and relaxing place to spend a few hours, days or weeks. Stroll along the bush paths, wander in formal garden, espresso in the cafe or a vegetarian meal.
