KIDS HOLIDAY ART WORKSHOPS

The Sunshine Coast Art Group (SCAG) is opening its painting studio for kids on the Coast to unleash their creativity and engage in some rich learning experiences.

Led by qualified teachers Cath Aronsten and Angela Wilhelm the kids will have the opportunity to make an artwork inspired by famous artists from history in a fun creative atmosphere.

Each workshop will involve learning to express mood and emotion through painting using artist models Franz Marc and Wassily Kandinsky.  Workshop participants will explore materials and processes in artmaking using acrylic paints and will bring home a finished, ready-to-hang canvas..

The Art Workshops are designed for two different age groups:

   Pre-teens:    7 to 12yrs        Morning  –  9am to 11.30am

   Teens:           13 to 17yrs      Afternoon  –  1pm to 3.30pm

This initiative also represents a ‘back to the future’ moment for teacher Angela Wilhelm.  As a child Angela attended classes at SCAG studios where she discovered and pursued her own passion for art. It is totally understandable that she is particularly excited about being back in the same painting studio to deliver a creative artmaking experience for the current kids on the coast!

 Dates:    choose morning or afternoon session as detailed above on either:                    Sunday 19 September  or  Sunday 3 October

Cost:      $35 per student, per session - all materials are provided

These classes are run by club volunteers and all proceeds go to support the ongoing costs of Sunshine Coast Art Group.
